Terminals at Graz Airport
There are two terminal buildings, the departure being the newest addition to the complex. The ultra modern building has a glass facade, which allows passengers to get their bearings even before entering the main building. It is built low and surrounded by trees, which makes it pleasing to the eye.
Getting to Graz Airport
When traveling to Graz Airport from the south by car, you need to take the Kalsdorf exit off the A9 and follow the signs for the airport.
From the north and traveling on the A9, turn onto the A2 at the traffic junction. Head due west to Wien and turn off the A2 at the Flughafen Feldkirchen exit.
From the north or south on the A2, take the airport junction and head west to Wein. Turn off the A2 at Flughafen Feldkirchen.
The airport is a 4-minute walk from the railway station and the train is 12 minutes from Graz center.
Parking at Graz Airport
There are 2,200 parking spaces at Graz, including specially marked bays for disabled users. There is short stay (up to one hour), forecourt parking (free for 30 minutes) and a multi-story car park that holds 830 car parking spaces. The latter is linked to the terminal by a covered walkway.
Facilities at Graz Airport
There is the Travel Value & Duty Free shop and Mini Market that sells everyday items and holiday products, newspapers, games and toys. The opening times are 5.30am-11.30pm.
The Duty Free Shop sells tobacco, perfumes, spirits and wines, confectioneries and sweets. Non-EU passengers have no limitations, whilst EU travelers can only purchase up to four cartons of cigarettes with the exception of travelers to the Canary Islands.
There is a bi-monthly art gallery that features artists such as Duncan, Beate Rusch, Romische Villa, Michael Zacek, Jorg Martin Willnauer and Erwin Schwenter.
WIFI, ATM machines and currency exchanges are available within the terminal.
What's close to Graz Airport
Graz city center is just 12 minutes from the airport and has six universities. The Old Town is now known as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. The old town hall (Rathaus), Graz clock tower and the Landeszeuhaus, the world's largest armory, are all intriguing places for travelers to visit.
The Schloberg is the 475m high hill that dominates the city's skyline and also has a funicular railway leading to the top of it. The Schloss Eggenberg is a beautiful Baroque palace that sits on the western edge of the city and houses its own museum within the grounds.
