There are two terminals at Salzburg Airport, however, the new 2nd terminal is used when there is a huge influx of passengers for the skiing season. Terminal 2 is very sparse on facilities, only having a small snack shop. The vibrant Terminal 1 is chocked full of restaurants and bars.
 

GETTING TO SALZBURG AIRPORT


Salzburg Airport is around 25 minutes from the city centre and this will be made easier in your Car Hire Salzburg vehicle. From Klagenfurt, head west to the A-2 motorway until you reach Villach and take the A-10/E-55 motorway for 175kms. Exit onto the B150 and the city centre is nearby.
 
From Linz, head in a southwesterly direction on the A-7 motorway. Take exit 6 towards Salzburg and follow signs for the A-1 motorway and the city centre.
 
From Munchen, aim southeast on the A-8 motorway until you hit the Austrian border. After the Austrian border, the A-1/E-60 motorway takes you directly to the city centre when taking exit 292.

At the airport, there are 1,921 covered car parking spaces, which are on seven floors that lead to two gateways. An extra 1,230 parking spaces can be found only 5 minutes from the terminal building.
 
There are short and long stay parking spaces, the longer term ones have discounted rates.

There is a duty free shop where passengers can buy tobacco, spirits, perfumes and confectioneries. There are games, toys and snacks that are available.
