There is one main terminal building although upgrades are planned which will enable more passengers to pass through the airport. There is a car park located to the front of the terminal and a direct railway to the city is planned for 2013. Extra parking spaces will be allocated too.

Getting to Volos Airport

Volos is located on the east coast of mainland Greece. The E75 from the north goes through Katerini and Larissa before passing. To the south, the E75 carries onto Acharnes and Athina.

To the south west is Patra which the E65 is the main road route. To the east is Ioannina, which the E90 is the best road to take for that as the smaller un-named roads are twisty and go up into the mountains.

After the 1955 earthquakes, Volos lost nearly all of its Neoclassical buildings. Although the Aghios Nikolaos (the cathedral) and the basilica called Aghios Konstantinos still stand.

There are many bars, which are open in the summer months. These include such popular ones as PocoPico and Balthassar. Cafe Santan is the most famous and has been trading since the 1980's.
