Terminals at Trondheim Airport

There are two terminals, one for internal and one for international flights, there has been four terminals altogether. Each has been renovated or rebuilt and enlarged to handle the ever increasing passengers who want to use the airport. The last addition was Terminal B's make over which accepts European flights.

Getting to Trondheim Airport

Tromso Airport is located around 12 miles from Trondheim city center. It is accessible on the E6 motorway. The E6 road heads north up past Frosta and onto Levanger and Verdal. It is an important road to the north of Norway.

To the east of the airport, the E14 heads right to the Finnish border and passes through Meraker. This road bypasses the Skarvan of Roltdalen National Park.

Parking at Trondheim Airport

There are around 3,000 car parking spaces at the airport. Most are covered due to the extreme weather conditions. There is a manned security house at each entrance and a perimeter fence. The car parks are managed by Europark AS. Payment by cash can be made at the ticket machines.

Facilities at Trondheim Airport

There are three ATM machines located at the airport. The one on the air-side of Terminal B dispenses Euro and Pound Sterling. There is Wifi Internet available throughout the airport and in both terminals. Payment can be made by credit card at the information desks and charges are made per 10 minute intervals. 

There is the Husfliden which is a shop selling traditional Norwegian clothing including handbags and table cloths. There are duty free shops which sell discounted tobacco and confectioneries. There is the Esthetique Perfumery which is open from 7am to 9pm and sells a wide range of perfumes.

Being the the most northern mercantile city in Europe, Trondheim is the last large city before the arctic. It runs along the Nidelva River and it is here the sunsets are best viewed. The river runs behind the cathedral which is also a must see attraction. With its Gothic architecture it dominates the skyline above Trondheim city. It is where the St. Olav festival takes place every year as a pilgrimage.
