Terminals at Alicante Airport
The airport has two terminal buildings, the second is under construction and once completed it will allow 12-20 million passengers to be catered for. The existing terminal handles both the arrivals and the departures but responsibility will be split between the two when it is fully completed in late 2010.
Getting to Alicante Airport
Alicante Airport is located 6 miles from the city centre. It is served by the E15/A7 road from Crevillent and Elche to the west.
Heading south from Benidorm or Villajoyosa in your Car Hire Alicante Airport vehicle, use the AP7 motorway that is close to the city. From the west, use the CV80 and then the A31 road passing through Elda, Petrer and Monforte del Cid.
From the east, head south on the A30 near Helin and then head north on the A7 highway before you reach Elche and Alicante.
If you are heading south from Picassent, you can use the A7, A31 and then the AP7.
Parking at Alicante Airport
There are 2,000 car parking spaces available at the airport. There are covered and uncovered parking lots, which are manned by security guards and a perimeter fence. Payment can be made for long or short-term stays inside the terminal building at the ticket machines using cash or credit card.
Facilities at Alicante Airport
There are two duty free shops all selling similar items such as perfumes, snacks and tobacco. There are souvenirs and gifts to purchase. The Travel Value and Duty Free Shop are located in the departure lounge.
There are cafes and restaurants serving warm food including coffees and soft drinks. The bars sell international alcohol and have live sports on the large TV screens.
Wifi Internet is available throughout the entire airport. Payment can be made by using pre-paid vouchers or by using a credit card.
Baby changing facilities and disabled toilets are located in all areas of the passenger terminal.
What's Close to Alicante Airport?
The Archaeological Museum is located on Plaza del Doctor Gomez Ulla. There is a video shown on the tour which shows the history of Alicante.
The Old Town is a small triangular section near to the coast, which is a great cruise in your Car Hire Alicante Airport vehicle. There are many small shops selling typical Valencia souvenirs and you can walk up the winding streets to see the town hall and cathedral.
Prostiguet Beach is a popular tourist attraction and is around 7km long, meaning that it is not too congested even at peak times. There are catamaran trips available from the local vendors where you can see the Mediterranean Sea.
