Attractions of Biel 

Biel has many attractions including wine yards on the outskirts and many fantastic restaurants situated on the shores of Lake Biel. Many locals enjoy a swim in the lake in summer. Beautiful medieval buildings are found in the Altstadt or Old Town and a popular attraction is watching fireworks from a boat on the lake during the Swiss National day on August 1st.

Sights of Biel 

In the historic old town there are man beautiful buildings from the 18th and 19th Centuries. This gives the area the same look that it had back then and the buildings are very well preserved. Biel is a great place to enjoy a night out and one place in particular is at a refurbished gas reactor that is in the heart of the city. Music here varies and there are concerts held here regularly and the music ranges from Urban and Funk through to Punk Rock. Mad Nidau is another place that is very good and cheap.

Shopping is great fun in Biel ad there are many places that sell watches making the city a center for horology. The city has shopping centers and a pedestrianized area for shoppers to enjoy all set against the beautiful backdrop of the Old Town.

Getting to Biel 

There are excellent train connections for Biel from all of the major cities in Switzerland. Biel is also easy to reach by public buses and the city is only a half an hour from the capital city, Bern. Traversing the city in your Car Hire Biel vehicle is the best option.
